Colleges That Change Lives

Changing Lives. One Student at a Time.

CTCL Events

Colleges That Change Lives is dedicated to the advancement and support of a student-centered college search process. We work to dispel publicly held myths about college choice—particularly the notion that college choices are severely limited to today’s high school students—and to educate families about the importance of matching an individual student’s needs with the mission and identity of the college itself.

Since 1998, CTCL has offered a national series of information sessions and college fairs for students, parents, and college counselors. These sessions begin with an enlightening 30-minute presentation on today’s college search process and are followed immediately by a college fair that lasts for approximately 1.5 hours. Students and families are able to collect information from and speak directly with admission representatives from the colleges and universities that inspired the book Colleges That Change Lives. This year's series has concluded but the details for the 2016 events will be posted here early in 2016.

In addition, CTCL offers individual speakers who are available to work with and give presentations to college counselors, outreach agencies, and high school students. Presentations may be scheduled throughout the year. A list of upcoming presentations can be found in the left column list, and a complete list of presentations offered in the 2015-16 school year may be found here. Learn more about hosting a CTCL presentation for your organization here.

CTCL events are free to the public, and pre-registration is not required.
