While Reed does not participate in varsity sports, Reed has active teams in basketball, rugby, soccer, and Ultimate Frisbee. These teams compete regularly against other schools in intercollegiate and club competition.

Furthermore, all Reed students are required to fulfill a physical education requirement that includes a variety of activities, ranging from sailing to soccer, from Ultimate Frisbee to yoga, from juggling to fencing.
